In case you were wondering, this blog isn't about S&M fetishism! Its title comes from Shakespeare's 'Measure for Measure':
'The baby beats the nurse, and quite athwart Goes all decorum.' Its context in the play relates to rule and the correct application of law and justice; when law and order is overturned, chaos ensues. I like the quote because the metaphor of the baby beating the nurse has general relevance in that when something right is reversed or unbalanced, then repercussions can be expected. Also, I think the image of it is quite funny in a Monty Pythonesque kind of way...
